The Castlegar and District Hospital Foundation held it’s Light Up The Health Centre Pledge Day on Friday December 6th. This year the Foundation is raising funds to purchase advanced respiratory intervention equipment (ventilator) for the Castlegar’s Emergency Department, with any additional funds raised supporting other areas of greatest need at the Castlegar Health Centre and Talarico Place.
The lobby was beautifully adorned in Christmas décor, and entertainment was expertly provided by Loretta Davidson and friend. Visitors were welcomed with refreshments and door prizes generously donated by Safeway, Boulevard Hair and The Bank of Montreal.
With the Foundation’s honoured donor the Castlegar & District Hospital Auxiliary making it’s sizable donation, added to earlier community donations, about sixty percent of the fifty-thousand dollar goal was achieved by noon.
Pledges from local areas I and J, along with donations from Tim Hortons and the generosity of area residents saw the day reach over seventy-five percent of its goal.
The Castlegar Hospital Foundation is indeed grateful to everyone who plays a part in Castlegar’s Light Up and remind us there’s still a ways to go.
For those who could not make it out to Friday’s event, the CDHFoundation is accepting donations online at https://www.castlegarhospitalfoundation.org/donate-now/, by mail or in person at CDHF 709-10th St, Castlegar, V1N 2H7. You are invited to support this important campaign.
