The Castlegar & District Hospital Foundation’s Light up 2014 goal includes bridging the gap for a second V.A.C. Therapy System 101. The first unit obtained has proven invaluable and an additional one has been requested. These will be used at the Castlegar & District Health Centre and in our community.
The V.A.C. Therapy Unit is a medical device system that promotes wound healing by delivering negative pressure (a vacuum) at the wound site through a patented dressing and therapy unit creating an environment that promotes the wound healing process. This negative pressure helps draw wound edges together, helps remove fluids and infectious materials from wounds and promotes quicker healing. As well, the goal includes EEG Software and a Blood Draw Chair.
Additional funds raised will be applied to areas of greatest need at the Castlegar Community Health Centre or Talarico Place.
Pledge Day is Friday, December 5, 2014 from 9am to 3pm.
